TATA Communications is part of the multi-national TATA Group comprising over 90 operating companies including leading UK brand names Tetley Tea, Jaguar and Land Rover.
TATA Communications’ printer fleet had grown over a number of years with no set purchasing criteria or standard model range. This led to a huge variety of devices, each requiring different consumables, parts, printer drivers and maintenance kits. TATA Communications approached Vision to propose a Managed Print solution that would enable them to drive down costs, improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Customer Agenda
- Reduce costs
- Increase efficiency
- Reduce environmental impact
- Improve document security
Vision approached the project with a partner centric ethos, working with Tata Communications to create a print strategy and policy, whilst ensuring the whole process was planned and managed by a team of experienced consultants.
The fully Managed Print solution dramatically reduced the burden on TATA Communications’ IT staff by providing an optimum fleet of new devices, consumables and maintenance. Budgeting is clear and savings are immediate. In addition to the financial savings, the streamlined print infrastructure requires less management and frees up valuable time and space for TATA’s team. The business has also benefited from improved document security and reduced wastage.
Vision provided, installed and maintains a fleet of Canon multifunctional devices to optimise TATA Communications’ document workflow. All printing and copying will be controlled with uniFLOW print management software, providing TATA Communications with the ability to monitor cost by user and department to allow for accurate budgeting across the organisation. Employees have the ability to securely release their print jobs, which will significantly improve security, reduce wastage from unwanted prints and enhance overall efficiency.
High volume devices were installed in strategic locations across five locations in the UK to improve workflow within the offices. Vision’s dedicated customer trainer provided comprehensive training to help users with key features and operations.
Existing proximity cards will be used to control access to devices and uniFLOW will be implemented simultaneously across locations.
